Hi there! I’m Denise Johnson, and if you’re looking for someone who gets crazy excited about highlighters and checklists, you’ve found your girl. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved creating order from chaos. That early love grew into a passion for education, a knack for executing timelines, and eventually the ability to turn fleeting minutes into beautiful moments.
Fast forward a few years and organization and execution became my love language. Pair that with my desire to celebrate love, and you get MADE Weddings and Events, LLC. Oh, and MADE? It stands for “Making Any Day Extraordinary.” Pretty fitting, right?
From Soundtracks to Sophistication
Early in my event planning and coordination days, way before the business, I was focused on taking ordinary moments and thinking of ways to make them memorable. Back in middle school, I discovered that every memory deserves a soundtrack. My 90’s playlist still takes me back to those long summer days, after-school practices, and sleepovers with friends. By college, I became a young woman who loved thoughtful details and had a flair for executing social gatherings and organizing people. My years as a high school counselor further honed my active listening skills—a critical component of truly understanding my clients’ needs. Over these years, I have developed a wide range of skills that help me create fun and beautiful moments, but at my core, I am driven by kindness and compassion and a passion for bringing people together.
A Commitment to Excellence
I believe in lifelong learning. After years of planning events, I decided to formalize my expertise and earned a certificate in event planning from a local university in 2016. That course solidified many of my practices, but my growth as a business owner hasn’t stopped there. Since its inception in 2017, I’ve constantly refined MADE Weddings and Events to ensure our clients get the best experience possible.
